DA 08/02/19

Well another puzzle that didn't provide many obstacles to a quick solve. I didn't know 1ac so that was LOI. Otherwise it was pretty clear sailing.

ACROSS
1,4) HUGGER-MUGGER : hugger, mugger : Sounds like some overly affectionate person or something related to a 'chugger' (charity mugger) but it just means 'confused'. Whoda thunk it.
9) AS PER USUAL : a,s,perus(u)al : nice enough clue.
10) OLDS : ddef : well, no wonder ma and pa and Ford and Benz just weren't working . . .
11) COROWA : c(O)row,a : heard of it. Didn't know where it is.
12) HATE MAIL : Sp(mate,hail)
13) RANG : -rang : ie prang.
15) ASPIRATION : ddef
17) STABLEHAND : stable,hand : bit blah.
19) WHEN : ---w---,hen
20) COMRADES : com(rad)es : a bit of DA-nglish but not very hard.
22) QUELLS : ques(l---l)s- : I'm assuming 'hangers-on' are the outside letters. In a parallel universe, maybe so . . .
24) FUND : fun,d-------
25) OVER AND OUT : (vote, around)* : 'rent' is not my favourite anagind.
26,27) FAMILY JEWELS : ddef : meh.

DOWN
1) HAS TO : hast-,-o-
2) GEELONG : gee, long : Wikipedia says the Cats are an AFL team.
3) EMU PARADE : (ra-e,made,up)* : I remember doing a parade or two.
5) UNLIT : un(L-----)it : OMG, DH is doing some guest setting under DA's name. This must stop !
6) GROMMET : gr-om,met
7) RUDDIGORE : Rudd,I,gore : never heard of it.
8) PUSH UP DAISIES : push up,dais(i)es
14) ASTROTURF : ----a,s(tort<)urf : bit more like it, complicated.
16) RED SQUARE : hm(read),square : blah.
18) BOREDOM : mode rob <
19) WHEEDLE : whee(d)l,----e
21) DROOL : -d,-r, -o, -o, -l
23) LOURS : --lours : ie colours.

Not the most challenging and a few drab clues. Again only 4/10.
There's got to be a stinker coming . . .

As you say, quite easy.

2 I was taught proper names should always be capitalized in clues.

19a 'supporting' is better suited to a down clue
